Our Mission & Vision
Mission: Maine Homeless Services is dedicated to providing comprehensive assistance and resources to individuals experiencing homelessness in Maine. Through collaboration with local organizations, government agencies, and community members, we aim to address the root causes of homelessness and offer sustainable solutions. Our mission is to provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, and supportive services that empower individuals to regain stability, develop life skills, and ultimately secure permanent housing. We strive to raise awareness, advocate for policy changes, and foster a sense of belonging and dignity for all Mainers
Vision: Maine Homeless Services is committed to ensuring all participants
advocated for, in a safe, respectful and inclusive manner which recognizes their rights and needs. This policy aims to outline a process of advocating for those who need support in the act of speaking on the behalf of or in support of another person, place, or thing and to create a compassionate and inclusive community where homelessness is eradicated, and every Mainer has access to safe, affordable housing and the support they need to thrive.
The state of Maine is facing a major housing crisis. We are committed to providing resources to anyone who is either experiencing homelessness, at-risk of becoming homeless or working with the homeless population. We want to ensure that everyone has the information they need, especially if they are unaware of the resources available to them.
